Special permission and official licensing has been granted to the Dragonfly Aerial Company, by the estate of C.S. Lewis, for our own Dragonfly Aerial adaptation of the C.S. Lewis novel The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe.
Join us April 11th, at 4pm for auditions!
For information on auditions, register below.
You DO NOT have to be a current DAC student to participate. Everyone from everywhere is welcome to audition for this magical production!
Current performance company members do not need to audition to be included in Ensemble. This audition is primarily for company members pursuit of lead roles and for new students wanting to join, or return to, our performance company for the production.
Enrollment in Performance Company will be a requirement from
May through October.
We can not gurantee that every character will have an aerial performance element. We have several battle scenes and group floor ensembles that will need great floor movers as well.
Audition Structure
Dance Portion
Students will learn a short movement combination to demonstrate musicality, coordination, and expression.
Ambient Flow & Character Exploration
This portion allows artists to move freely and continuously, exploring transitions, shapes, and character quality of movement in the air. The focus is on fluidity, creativity, and how each artist connects movements together in a way that is congruent with the music inspiration, rather than executing set choreography.
Character Exploration
Students will be asked to share a character they would love to portray in Narnia. This helps us understand their interests, imagination, and performance presence.
Audition Order
- Group warm-up
- Dance Combination
- Ambient flow & Character Exploration
- Combat Combination
Auditions are designed to be low-pressure and encouraging, with an emphasis on participation and learning.
