Jennifer Mitchell

Performance Company Manager
During the production of Wonderland. Jen shared her broad talents providing amazing character makeup, handmade intricate rhinestone masks for our main characters and helped refine some of our performance pieces for the show! For those of you who have not had the opportunity to meet this wonderful lady, I would like to introduce you to our new Performance Company Manager: Jennifer Mitchell.

Ms. Jen began her education at an artistic and competitive dance studio in MA. She then studied Dance at Point Park University, ranked in one of the top 5 dance programs in the US, alongside Julliard, Tisch & Ailey.

Eager to get out into the professional world, Jennifer headed straight to NYC to audition for Royal Caribbean. In her first NYC audition, she landed one of only four coveted female positions out of 400 competitors. The very next day she auditioned for Season 5 “So You Think You Can Dance” NYC and received her golden ticket to Las Vegas. Within a week Royal Caribbean offered Jennifer a contract to start rehearsals as a dancer and featured aerialist…immediately. She had to decide whether to wait the few months for her date on SYTYCD or take a paid contract that could potentially set her up for a considerable professional career. She chose to take the career with Royal Caribbean and spent the last twelve fruitful years touring 29 countries performing nightly, dance and aerial professionally. During that time, Jen was promoted to dance captain and then company manager at RCCL and later went on to work with the casting company RWS Entertainment Group out of NYC, NY for Holland America Line cruise ships. RWS created three different show packages consisting of four shows each. Jennifer had the very unique blessing of performing every aerial soloist and duet piece that they created during that time. Unfortunately, her time on Holland America was cut short when Covid began.

Jennifer has been blessed to perform on stage, in the air and underwater for thousands of guests from all over the world. From Walt Disney World, Orlando to Ripley’s Believe it or not Aquarium in Myrtle Beach, SC where she embodied the character of Mermaid Leira. (Yes, Jen is a real live Mermaid). After SC, Jennifer accepted a dancer/magicians assistant role on the island of Saipan in a show called Magic Rocks™ where she performed with a white bengal tiger named Nepaul and absolutely loved being sawed in half! While living on the island she directed a summer camp for Mariana’s Trekking and ran the ballet school Glushko’s Academy of Dance.

While recovering from a severed ACL, Jennifer received her Reiki energy healing attunements and then was accepted to complete her 200hr yoga teacher training in Rishikesh, India, the birthplace of Yoga.

Jennifer has always had a compassionate and empathetic touch when it comes to serving people and children of all walks of life. She found a place to channel that energy by becoming a Registered Behavior Technician and is now working with “Whole Kids” here in Colorado Springs. Through Applied Behavioral Analysis she is working with children with autism and related developmental disabilities and their families to develop skills, create connections and instill confidence. Her hope is to once day work with Mistia to bring social circus programming to Dragonfly.
