Sasha Wan-Carew

Sasha immediately joined the Dragonfly competitive group and began Coach in Training at Dragonfly becoming a certified Dragonfly Instructor.  Sasha toured the competitive circuit from 2021-2023 and consistently topped the podium from
Aerialympics 2021 tissue (first place) to
Skybound regionals 2022 tissue (first place) to
Skybound nationals 2022 tissue (first place) to
Aerial star competition 2022 tissue (first place) to
Viva Fest 2023 tissue (Two first place awards, a perfect score in solo fabric and first place in Duo Fabric)

After her stellar performance at Viva Fest in 2023, Sasha auditions and was accepted into École National de Cirque (The National Circus School).

The summer intensive lasted two weeks. As an aerialist they trained and had classes in rope, tissue (silks), hoop, dance trapeze, straps, handstands, dance, acting, tumbling, hula hoops, conditioning, and flexibility.
Each day consisted of six hours of training in these different disciplines with high level and experienced coaches. An amazing experience and Sasha learned so much. Training with aerialists from all around the world, Sasha learned a lot about their culture, where they lived, and some words from their languages. Since they ate meals together, and training every day for many hours, they became very close and she says it was an incredible experience being in such a tight knit circus family!!

Sasha continues to train weekly, remotely with one of her Ecole instructors. We are fortunate to have Sasha share her Ecole instruction and influence to Dragonfly.
